Protons + Neutrons + Quarks

We sparked in 2008 under the artistic direction of Kerry Sorci and founding members Francesca Sanders, Gordon Romei, Merritt Glover, Ron Sorci, and Kate Mura. The vision upon conception was one of vital theatre: plumbing the classics, unearthing new adaptations, and writing new and timely works for the ensemble to define in Viewpoints-based processes.

2010 brought major changes to Fuse! (...not to mention Kerry and Ron's beautiful, now 3-year-old daughter Emersyn Clara Sorci.) With our roots firmly planted in the classics and the Viewpoints vocabulary as established by Anne Bogart and Tina Landau, we began an exploration of even more experimental, site-specific, politically responsive new works under the Co-Artistic Direction of Kate Mura and newst member Rusty Tennant.

Today, Fuse stands before you as a production engine with over a dozen new ensemble members committed to our six-project season. Our atomic structure says it best:

Protons - The six long-standing members at the managerial core
Neutrons - Our Board of Directors
Quarks - Our newest in-studio collaborators, involved in product on an individual basis

With growth came new roles and a stronger core: Kate steps out on tour as Artistic Ambassador, Rusty moves into a sole Artistic Director position, and Nik and Sara Fay continue in Assoiciate Executive Director and Associate Artistic Director duties, respectively.

2013 was all about Repetition. We brought a trio of devised pieces in three different stages of development to run in repretory to the Fertile Ground Festival. We made our last installment at Theater! Theatre! (really this time) - The OUTwright Theatre Festival. And we camped out in the woods around Bagby Hot Springs again.

2014 has us all pointed in new directions. Join us as we cultivate new ground and investigate Topography.
